In
1976, David L. Halladay and Earl Randolph founded H & R Screw Machine
Products as a high volume producer of screw machine products. One year later,
David L. Halladay purchased Earl Randolph's share of the company. The company
has since incorporated, and remains a closely held corporation.
Our business began with one screw machine, two customers, and a goal of
providing excellent service and quality at a fair price. Decades later, the
number of machines and customers has grown; but our original customers remain
with H & R. This, we feel, speaks volumes about the way we do business.
Over the years, H & R's main focus has been the production of high volume
screw machine products. However, we also provide customers with subcontract
machining of their castings, forgings, stampings, and CNC Machining. Our main
production equipment consists of various multiple spindle screw machines,
with capacity to 2 ¼" diameter. In addition, we have CNC machining, and
maintain a full line of secondary operations.
We feel that our growth is a result of our dedication to quality and customer
service. We are fortunate to have a very talented group of employees, who
make this a reality. H & R is a small corporation, but our employees,
collectively, have hundreds of years experience in the industry.
Our customer base is very diverse, with applications ranging from automotive
to heating and cooling, heavy equipment, appliance, office furniture,
material handling, military, and hydraulic.
OUR PLANT
On January 3, 2000 we moved into our new, 38,000 square foot plant. The plant
has a state-of-the-art scrap and oil processing system, air filtration
system, air conditioning, overhead crane, excellent lighting, and room for
growth. This facility gives us the ability to better serve our existing and
future customers, while providing an excellent work environment for our
employees.
